VIDEO STANDARDS
The term "video" is somewhat misleading because there is no single definition of video: there are formats for specific applications from low resolution TV to high resolution blu-ray to FLV formats for online viewing. In the last year YouTube has modified its video specifications three times. The one thing that is obvious is that higher resolution video is becoming increasingly common. The internet already supports 3D video and will lead the way on 2K and 4K which are the successors to 1080.
We take out the worry about these different specifications for our customers and make different versions of the same video. For example, when we shoot a 30 second TV commercial, our customers may choose for us to provide the optional cinema quality version for airing in the local theater between movies. TV commercials are formatted to Standard Definition TV format. The local cinema uses blu-ray specifications. Because we shoot the original take in high definition video, we can render the formats as needed. We can even compress the final video into a high resolution H.264 format for customers to put on their website.
